140520 [NEWS] 140512-PRESS CONFERENCE KINGDOM OF THE WINDS

On May 12th, the press conference for ‘The Kingdom of the Winds’was held at CJ Towol Theater at Seoul Arts Center in Seocho-dong, Seocho District in Seoul. The conference was held after the 1 hour highlight performance.

‘The Kingdom of the Winds’ depicts a story of three generations of families: King Yuri, Daemusin and Minjung of Goguryeo. The story starts to unfold with the collision between Daemusin (Muhyul), the 3rd king of Goguryeo and Prince Hodong who hopes peace. G.O plays Hodong, who has a warm heart. His ideas about where the country has to go are different from them of his father.

G.O said, “I am really happy and it is a great honor to work with actors and actresses from Seoul Performing Arts Company. As I my mustache and bear grow fast I always shave with a triple blade razor (Laughter)”, making a light joke.

Do we look like a father and the son?

When he was asked how the way he sings different as a singer or a musical actor, he said, “I try hard and do my best but it is still hard to say I sing differently. Singers place importance on singling delicately using a condenser microphone. But I realized how poor I am while singing on stage as an actor. I thought I can’t even make the proper sound but I just imitate how others sing”.

G.O showed his personal preferences for being a musical actor, saying, “Singers have to show all they have within just 4 minutes. Musical actors focus on acting and singing for 2 hours. I think being a musical actor is little more interesting than singing for a short time. I have to pay attention to acting for every second of the musical and it is fun”.

‘The Kingdom of the Winds’ will be performed during the period of May 11st and 20th at CJ Towol Theater at Seoul Arts Center.
